Ezekiel 20:20
βMake my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.ββ
What does Ezekiel 20:20 mean?
God is inviting his people to honor the Sabbath as a way of recognizing who he is and deepening their relationship with him. The Sabbath rest, set apart from ordinary work and activity, becomes a visible sign of trust in God, a weekly reminder that he's the one who sustains everything and deserves our devotion. When we protect that day as sacred, we're essentially saying yes to God's lordship over our time and lives. It's less about rigid rule-keeping and more about creating space to remember that we belong to him.
