Ezekiel 2:4
“The children are impudent and stiff-hearted. I am sending you to them, and you shall tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh.’”
What does Ezekiel 2:4 mean?
God is sending Ezekiel to speak to people who won't listen easily, to those whose minds are already made up and whose hearts resist what he has to say. Rather than softening the assignment or choosing an easier audience, God is clear about what Ezekiel will face, then sends him anyway with a simple commission: deliver God's message. There's something both sobering and freeing in this. Ezekiel isn't being asked to convince anyone or to win them over through clever words. His job is simply to show up and speak what God has given him to speak. The responsibility for how people respond belongs to them, not to him. If you've ever felt called to do something difficult or to speak something unpopular, this verse reminds us that faithfulness sometimes means speaking truth to people who don't want to hear it, and that's okay.
