What does Ezekiel 19:5 mean?
This verse is part of a lament comparing the destruction of Judah's royal line to a lioness losing her cubs. The "she" is Jerusalem herself, and the cubs represent her kings. After one son was captured and exiled (fulfilling her "waiting" and disappointed hopes), the mother turned to raising another son in his place, trying to restore what was lost.
