What does Ezekiel 16:38 mean?
God is speaking here to Jerusalem, using the metaphor of an unfaithful spouse to describe the nation's turning away from him. The language is severe because the prophet is trying to shake people awake to the seriousness of abandoning their covenant relationship with God, and also because they've committed genuine injustices and violence against the vulnerable.
