What does Ezekiel 16:35 mean?

God speaks here through the prophet Ezekiel to Jerusalem, using the painful image of unfaithfulness to describe how the city has turned away from him. In the larger passage, Jerusalem is portrayed as someone who has rejected God's care and covenant love to pursue other powers and false gods instead. The harsh word "prostitute" isn't meant as cruelty but as a wake-up call, naming the reality of broken trust. Even in rebuke, God is still calling Jerusalem to listen, still willing to speak rather than simply abandon them.
