Ezekiel 14:22
“Yet, behold, there will be left a remnant in it that will be carried out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they will come out to you, and you will see their way and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it.”
What does Ezekiel 14:22 mean?
Even when judgment falls heavily on a city or nation, God promises that some will survive and be preserved. The survivors who escape will come to you, and when you see how they live and what they do, you'll understand something important: their character and faithfulness will give you hope and perspective about God's justice. Their very existence proves that God hasn't abandoned his people entirely, and seeing their lives can actually comfort you in the midst of tragedy, because it shows you that judgment serves a purpose—to refine and preserve those who truly belong to him.
