Ezekiel 13:22

Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive.

What does Ezekiel 13:22 mean?

God is speaking against false prophets who twist the truth in ways that deeply harm people. When these teachers spread lies, they discourage those trying to live right with God, making them doubt themselves and give up hope. At the same time, their deception gives wicked people permission to keep sinning, promising them false assurances instead of calling them toward change and life. What makes this so serious is that lying prophets don't just mislead individuals, they actively damage the spiritual community. They crush the confidence of faithful people while enabling those who need to turn around to stay stuck in destructive paths. God grieves when His truth gets corrupted in ways that block people from finding healing and redemption.
