Ezekiel 13:15
“Thus will I accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have plastered it with whitewash. I will tell you, ‘The wall is no more, neither those who plastered it;”
What does Ezekiel 13:15 mean?
God is speaking through Ezekiel against false prophets who were giving people false reassurance about Jerusalem's safety by comparing them to someone who slaps whitewash (a cheap coating) over a crumbling wall. The whitewash looks nice but hides the real damage underneath, just as these prophets covered up hard truths with comfortable lies. When God's judgment comes, both the shabby wall and those who deceived people with false hope will fall together. It's a sobering reminder that we can't protect ourselves or others from truth by simply painting over problems or telling people what they want to hear instead of what they need to know.
