What does Ezekiel 11:21 mean?
When we persistently chase after what corrupts us, we shouldn't be surprised when that path leads to real consequences. God isn't arbitrarily punishing here; he's describing a natural law of the spiritual life. If we keep walking toward what destroys us, we eventually encounter the destruction we've been moving toward all along. This comes during a time when Jerusalem's leaders were turning toward idolatry and injustice, ignoring God's warnings. The message is that God won't force us away from harmful desires, but he also won't shield us from what those desires actually produce. It's less about punishment and more about cause and effect: the way you choose is the way you'll experience.
