Exodus 9:15

β€œFor now I would have stretched out my hand, and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;”

What does Exodus 9:15 mean?

God is speaking to Pharaoh through Moses, explaining what could have happened if He had simply destroyed Egypt outright instead of sending the ten plagues. This verse shows that God had the power to end the conflict immediately and completely, but chose a different path. Instead of wiping out the nation, He was sending plagues one by one, giving Pharaoh chances to repent and let the Hebrew people go. It's a sobering reminder that God's patience has limits, yet even when He's angry, He often works gradually rather than with sudden force, leaving room for change.
