Exodus 40:35
“Moses wasn’t able to enter into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and Yahweh’s glory filled the tabernacle.”
What does Exodus 40:35 mean?
When the tabernacle was finally completed after months of careful construction, God's presence filled it so completely that Moses himself couldn't go inside. The cloud that had guided Israel through the desert now settled over the sacred tent, visible proof that God was dwelling among His people. This wasn't a barrier meant to keep Moses out because he'd done something wrong, but rather a sign that the space had been set apart entirely for God's presence—so holy and so full of divine glory that even the leader couldn't enter while it remained that way. It's a humbling moment showing that even the person closest to God had to respect the boundaries of His holiness.
