“They bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not come loose from the ephod, as Yahweh commanded Moses.”
What does Exodus 39:21 mean?
When the high priest wore the breastplate (which held stones representing Israel's tribes), it needed to stay securely fastened to the ephod (the priestly garment worn underneath) so nothing would shift during sacred duties. The craftsmen carefully bound these two pieces together with a blue cord, creating a stable, unified garment that the priest could trust to stay in place while serving God and the community.
