What does Exodus 39:17 mean?
The Israelites were completing the breastplate of the high priest, a sacred garment worn during worship. This verse describes a practical detail: gold chains were fastened to rings on either side of the breastplate to secure it properly. These chains would attach the breastplate to the priest's shoulder pieces, keeping it in place as he moved through his duties in the tabernacle.
