What does Exodus 36:24 mean?
When the Israelites built the tabernacle, they needed a sturdy frame to hold up the fabric tent and all its sacred furnishings. These silver sockets were the foundation of that structure, anchoring wooden boards firmly in place so everything would stay secure and level. Each board had two projections (called tenons) that fit into two silver bases, creating a stable interlocking system that could support the weight and withstand movement as the community traveled through the wilderness.
