What does Exodus 35:1 mean?

After the people received the Ten Commandments and the detailed instructions for building the tabernacle, Moses gathered everyone together to make sure they understood what God actually wanted them to do. He wasn't adding his own ideas or softening God's words—he was simply passing along what he'd been given. This moment shows Moses acting as a faithful messenger, treating God's instructions seriously enough to assemble the entire community and make clear what obedience would look like in practice. It's a reminder that knowing what God asks of us is only the first step; the real work comes in actually doing it together.
