What does Exodus 30:26 mean?

God is instructing Moses to take the special anointing oil (prepared just before this verse) and use it to consecrate the tabernacle and its most sacred furnishings. This wasn't just about pouring oil for practical purposes, but about setting these spaces and objects apart as holy and dedicated to God. When something was anointed in ancient practice, it signaled that God's presence and blessing rested on it, marking it as different from ordinary things. For the people bringing their prayers and offerings, this act meant they could trust they were entering a space that belonged to God.
