Exodus 3:4
“When Yahweh saw that he came over to see, God called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said, “Moses! Moses!” He said, “Here I am.””
What does Exodus 3:4 mean?
Moses was simply curious about a bush that wouldn't burn up, so he turned aside to investigate. In that ordinary moment of wondering, God spoke directly to him, calling his name twice (the repetition shows tenderness and urgency both). When Moses answered "Here I am," he wasn't yet committed to anything, just present and listening, which was enough for God to begin. This is often how God meets us, not in grand circumstances we've planned but in small moments when we're paying attention to something we don't fully understand.
