Exodus 29:34
“If anything of the meat of the consecration, or of the bread, remains to the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.”
What does Exodus 29:34 mean?
After the priests were ordained, God gave strict instructions about what to do with the leftover ceremonial meal. Anything that wasn't eaten by morning had to be destroyed by fire rather than saved or given away, because it had been set apart as holy to God. This wasn't about waste or hardship, but about honoring the sacred nature of what belonged to God alone. The rule taught that some things aren't meant to be held onto or reused, no matter how practical that might seem, because holiness has its own logic that goes beyond our usual ways of thinking.
