Exodus 28:41
“You shall put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office.”
What does Exodus 28:41 mean?
Aaron and his sons are being prepared here for sacred work, set apart through anointing and blessing to serve as priests before God. The repeated language of anointing, consecrating, and sanctifying shows how serious this calling is, marking them as belonging to God in a special way. This wasn't about making them better than others, but about publicly dedicating them to a specific purpose: to stand between God and the people, offering sacrifices and leading worship. Even today, when we feel called to serve others or to draw closer to God in some way, we can think of ourselves as similarly set apart for that sacred work.
