What does Exodus 28:17 mean?
The high priest's breastplate was decorated with precious stones arranged in four rows, each representing the twelve tribes of Israel. This opening verse describes just the first row: ruby (deep red), topaz (golden yellow), and beryl (blue-green), with more stones following.
