Exodus 27:12
“For the width of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits; their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.”
What does Exodus 27:12 mean?
The tabernacle courtyard was enclosed by fabric hangings suspended between wooden pillars, and this verse describes one specific side of that enclosure. The west side needed fifty cubits (roughly 75 feet) of these hangings, held up by ten pillars set into stone bases. This detail might seem mundane, but it reveals something important: God cared about the specifics of how his dwelling place was constructed, down to measurements and materials, because structure creates space for sacred purpose.
