Exodus 27:1
““You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square: and its height shall be three cubits.”
What does Exodus 27:1 mean?
God is giving Moses very specific instructions for building the altar where sacrifices will be offered to him. This wasn't meant to be decorative or left to someone's imagination, but built with exact measurements so it would be a proper place for worship and atonement. The square shape and specific proportions likely had symbolic meaning for the Israelites, reminding them that their worship was ordered, intentional, and set apart for God's purposes.
