“You shall make fifty clasps of brass, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.”
What does Exodus 26:11 mean?
The Israelites were building the tabernacle, a portable tent where they would worship God during their wilderness journey. This verse describes the practical work of connecting two large curtains together with bronze clasps and loops, creating one unified tent structure. Beyond the construction details, there's something meaningful in the image itself: fifty separate clasps joining two pieces into one whole. The tabernacle was meant to be God's dwelling place among His people, and that unity mattered.
