What does Exodus 25:6 mean?
God was asking the Israelites to bring materials for worship in the tabernacle, and this verse lists two of those gifts: oil for the lamps that would burn continually in God's presence, and spices for sacred oils and incense. The oil represented the light of God's presence among them, while the incense and anointing oils were used in ceremonies that set apart priests and holy spaces. What's striking here is that God invited ordinary people to contribute these precious, expensive materials, making them active participants in creating a place to meet with him. It's a reminder that worship has always involved both spiritual devotion and real, tangible gifts from our hands and resources.
