What does Exodus 25:4 mean?
This is part of God's instruction to Moses about materials needed for the tabernacle, the portable worship space where God's presence would dwell among the Israelites. These weren't random items; blue, purple, and scarlet dyes were expensive and difficult to produce in the ancient world, while fine linen and goat hair represented the best available natural fibers. By asking for such costly materials, God was inviting the people to give something that actually meant something to them, turning their worship space into a genuine offering rather than leftover scraps.
