What does Exodus 25:14 mean?
The ark of the covenant was Israel's most sacred object, housing the Ten Commandments and representing God's presence among the people. Because it was so holy, no one could touch it directly, so God instructed them to build sturdy poles that fit through rings attached to the ark's sides. This design allowed the priests to carry it safely and respectfully from place to place during their wilderness journey and beyond.
