What does Exodus 24:16 mean?
God's presence on Mount Sinai wasn't a quick visit, but something that lingered and deepened over time. For six full days, the cloud—visible proof of God being there—covered the mountain while the people watched and waited below. Then on the seventh day, God called out to Moses, speaking directly to him from within that cloud. There's something tender about this waiting period. God didn't rush to speak but allowed a full week to pass, perhaps letting the weight and reality of divine presence sink in. When God finally called Moses up into the cloud on that seventh day, Moses wasn't going in blind or unprepared, but into a presence he'd watched settle over the mountain all week long. It suggests that encountering God sometimes requires patience and that his timing often matters as much as his words.
