Exodus 19:3
“Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:”
What does Exodus 19:3 mean?
When Moses climbed Mount Sinai, God spoke to him with an important message for the people waiting below. God was about to make a covenant with the Israelites, establishing them as his chosen people with special responsibilities. The fact that God calls Moses up to the mountain first shows Moses' unique role as the bridge between God and the community, the one who receives God's word and carries it to others. In your own life, this reminds us that God often speaks through faithful people willing to climb higher, listen carefully, and then faithfully relay what they've heard to their communities.
