What does Exodus 18:19 mean?
Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, is offering practical wisdom here after watching Moses exhaust himself by judging every single dispute among the Israelites personally. He's essentially saying: "You can't do this alone, and you don't have to." Jethro recognizes that Moses has a crucial role as the people's mediator with God, but that role gets lost when he's buried in endless small cases that others could handle.
