Exodus 17:1
“All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to Yahweh’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.”
What does Exodus 17:1 mean?
The Israelites are on the move through the desert after leaving Egypt, and Moses is guiding them according to God's direction. They arrive at a place called Rephidim, exhausted from travel, only to face a immediate and serious problem: there's no water anywhere. This moment captures something many of us recognize, that feeling when one difficulty resolves only for another to emerge right away, leaving you wondering if God is still present in the struggle.
