Exodus 14:2
““Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn back and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. You shall encamp opposite it by the sea.”
What does Exodus 14:2 mean?
God is giving Moses specific instructions to have the Israelites camp in a particular location that appears strategically vulnerable, right by the sea with mountains nearby. This positioning might have seemed foolish to human eyes, but it's actually setting up the conditions for God to demonstrate his power in an unmistakable way. The detailed instructions (naming specific landmarks) show that God knows exactly where his people are and has a clear plan, even when circumstances look impossible. Sometimes being led into what feels like a tight corner is exactly where God wants us, because it's in those moments that we learn to trust him rather than our own ability to escape.
