What does Exodus 12:33 mean?
After the tenth plague killed the firstborn in every Egyptian household, the people of Egypt were gripped by terror and desperation. They didn't politely ask the Israelites to leave, they urgently pushed them out, afraid that if the plagues continued, no one would survive. In their panic, the Egyptians couldn't see past their own fear to recognize that God was at work, or that the Israelites were simply being released as promised. This moment shows how desperation can move us to act in ways we otherwise wouldn't, and it reminds us that sometimes God's purposes unfold through circumstances that shake us to our core.
