Exodus 10:15

For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

What does Exodus 10:15 mean?

The locust plague described here represents the complete devastation of Egypt's food supply, leaving the people facing genuine hunger and hopelessness. Pharaoh had hardened his heart repeatedly against Moses' warnings, and now the consequences were undeniable and visible to everyone. The detail that nothing green remained anywhere underscores how thorough the destruction was, not just in one region but across the entire nation. For those enduring hardship, this passage might feel painfully relatable, yet it also reminds us that God sometimes allows natural or personal consequences to unfold when we persistently resist His guidance, and even in darkness, His purposes continue to work.
