Esther 5:1
“Now on the third day, Esther put on her royal clothing, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, next to the king’s house. The king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, next to the entrance of the house.”
What does Esther 5:1 mean?
Esther has been fasting and praying for three days, and now she makes her move. She dresses in her formal royal robes and positions herself where King Ahasuerus will see her, taking an enormous risk since approaching the king without being summoned could mean death. The detail about the king sitting on his throne near the entrance suggests she's chosen her moment carefully, when he's in a public space and perhaps more inclined to be gracious. What we're seeing here is courage dressed in elegance, a woman stepping forward to save her people despite her fear.
