Ephesians 4:31
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice.”
What does Ephesians 4:31 mean?
Paul is calling us to actively choose a different way of living, listing the toxic emotions and behaviors that poison both our hearts and our relationships. Bitterness, wrath, anger, loud accusations, slander, and malice are all connected, each one feeding into the others and creating distance between us and the people around us. He's not saying these feelings won't arise, but rather that we have the power to set them down instead of letting them take root in how we speak and act. When we release these things, we make space for healing, forgiveness, and the kind of peace that actually allows us to connect with others authentically.
