What does Ephesians 4:3 mean?

Paul is urging believers to actively work at staying connected to each other, not as a nice-to-have but as something essential to who they are in Christ. The "unity of the Spirit" isn't something we create—it's already there because all Christians share the same Holy Spirit—but we can either nurture it or neglect it through our choices and attitudes. Keeping that unity takes real effort: it means choosing patience, forgiveness, and gentleness even when people frustrate us or believe differently on secondary matters. Peace here isn't just the absence of conflict, it's the active bond that holds a community together, and Paul is saying this bond is worth fighting for.
