What does Ephesians 4:27 mean?
Paul is warning us not to create openings for destructive patterns to take root in our lives. When we hold onto anger, nurse grudges, or let bitterness fester, we're essentially handing the enemy a foothold, like leaving a door unlocked. The practical point here is that our choices matter, and unresolved hurt or resentment doesn't just fade away on its own, it can grow into something that poisons us from the inside out. The good news is that we have agency: we can choose to let things go, to forgive, and to close that door ourselves.
