Ephesians 4:15
βbut speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;β
What does Ephesians 4:15 mean?
Growing up spiritually isn't just about being right, it's about how we speak truth to one another. Paul is saying that when we share honest things with each other, we need to do it wrapped in genuine care, not harshness or judgment. This balance between truth and love is what actually builds up the church and helps us become more like Christ, our leader. Think of it like tending a garden: you might need to pull weeds (the truth part), but the soil has to be healthy and nourished (the love part) for anything to grow. When we speak truth without love, we wound people and push them away. When we speak love without truth, we enable harm and stagnation. Together, they're what moves us toward maturity and closer to who Christ is calling us to be.
