What does Ephesians 3:2 mean?
Paul is reminding his readers that they've likely heard about his special calling, which was to bring God's message of grace to non-Jewish people. He's not bragging here, but rather establishing his credibility so they'll trust what he's about to say about their place in God's family. There's a gentle humility in how he phrases this. He's acknowledging that his readers may already know his story, so he doesn't need to prove himself, yet he's also asking them to consider his role as evidence that God cares deeply about them too. The "grace given to me toward you" reminds us that any good we do for others ultimately flows from God's generosity, not our own merit.
