Ecclesiastes 9:4
“For to him who is joined with all the living there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
What does Ecclesiastes 9:4 mean?
Even when life feels small or insignificant, there's something precious about being alive that we shouldn't dismiss. The writer is saying that any life, no matter how humble or difficult, holds more possibility than something grand that's already gone. A struggling person still has chances to love, learn, change, and experience joy, while even the most impressive accomplishment means nothing once it's finished. This is especially comforting if you're going through a season where you feel like you're barely getting by, because your life still matters and still matters in ways that matter.
