What does Ecclesiastes 8:16 mean?
The writer of Ecclesiastes is describing his attempt to understand life by observing everything happening around him. He's so committed to this quest for wisdom that he's willing to stay awake and exhausted, watching human activity constantly, day and night. What he's really capturing is that feeling of desperately wanting to figure out how the world works and why people do what they do.
