Ecclesiastes 7:14

β€œIn the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him.”

What does Ecclesiastes 7:14 mean?

When life is going well, this verse invites you to actually enjoy it, to be genuinely glad, without guilt or fear. But it also gently suggests that hard seasons deserve their own kind of attention, a moment to think deeply about what they mean and what they're teaching you. The writer is saying that God allows both flourishing and struggle to exist together in our lives, and there's something important in that balance. We're not meant to have it all figured out or to see completely around the corner, and there's actually peace in accepting that our understanding is limited and our job is simply to live faithfully through whatever comes.
