What does Ecclesiastes 12:8 mean?
The Teacher (or Preacher) is expressing deep frustration with the pursuit of worldly accomplishments, pleasures, and knowledge when separated from God. "Vanity" here means emptiness, futility, or chasing after wind, like working tirelessly only to find your efforts leave you hollow.
