Deuteronomy 4:36
“Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you. On earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.”
What does Deuteronomy 4:36 mean?
Moses is reminding the Israelites of the unforgettable moment when God spoke to them directly at Mount Sinai, with thunder and fire shaking the mountain. He's describing how God used both sound and sight, voice and visible power, to make sure his people truly understood that they were encountering something real and sacred. The point isn't that God needed all this drama to be heard, but that he was breaking through their ordinary experience to grab their full attention and make his instructions sink deep into their hearts.
