Deuteronomy 32:33

What does Deuteronomy 32:33 mean?
This verse describes the spiritual and moral condition of people who have turned away from God, using the vivid image of poison to show how destructive their choices become. Just as snake venom causes death, the "wine" of their ways (their pursuits, pleasures, and systems built apart from God) brings harm to themselves and others. Moses is warning the Israelites that abandoning God's path doesn't lead to freedom or joy, but to something that corrupts and kills. The language is stark because the consequences are serious, yet even in this warning, there's an invitation to turn back before the poison takes full effect.
