Deuteronomy 21:5
“The priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them Yahweh your God has chosen to minister to him, and to bless in Yahweh’s name; and according to their word shall every controversy and every assault be decided.”
What does Deuteronomy 21:5 mean?
When a dispute arose that no one could settle fairly, the priests were called in as trusted arbitrators. God had set them apart specifically for this role: to stand between people and make judgments in God's name, knowing their decisions carried weight because they spoke on God's behalf.
