Deuteronomy 2:22
“as he did for the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place even to this day:”
What does Deuteronomy 2:22 mean?
God cleared the land of the Horites so the descendants of Esau (Jacob's brother) could settle there, and this passage reminds us that this happened long ago. The point here is that just as God made room for Esau's family in their territory, he was about to do something similar for the Israelites.
