Deuteronomy 10:16
“Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.”
What does Deuteronomy 10:16 mean?
God is calling here for a change that goes much deeper than the physical practice of circumcision. To "circumcise your heart" means to remove the barriers that keep you from receiving what God wants to give you, like pride, stubbornness, or fear. When Moses adds "be no more stiff-necked," he's using an image of an animal that won't turn when pulled, describing how we resist what's true or good. This is really about spiritual openness. God is inviting the people to soften their resistance, to stop holding so tightly to their own way, and to make room for trust and obedience.
