What does Daniel 6:17 mean?
The king has just thrown Daniel into a lion's den as punishment for refusing to stop praying to God, and this verse captures the finality of that moment. By sealing the stone with both his own signet ring and those of his nobles, the king made it impossible for anyone to secretly rescue Daniel or claim later that the execution wasn't properly carried out. It's a poignant detail showing how thoroughly trapped Daniel appeared to be, with multiple authorities locking in the verdict together.
