What does Daniel 4:29 mean?
King Nebuchadnezzar was taking a leisurely stroll through his magnificent palace, admiring what his own power and wealth had built. This moment comes after God had given him a warning dream (interpreted by Daniel) about the danger of pride, telling him to humble himself and show mercy to the poor. The twelve months represent a full year of opportunity to change his heart, a gracious waiting period before consequences arrived. What makes this verse poignant is that Nebuchadnezzar walks through his palace seemingly untouched by that warning. Instead of humbling himself, he's right back where he started, lost in his own accomplishments.
